A Bit About Me

Hello! I'm Claire and in my free time, I write fictional novels and short stories, love reading books of all genres, and am a theatre-obsessive! Being a writer myself, as well as an avid reader, I understand the need for someone else to proofread your work, as well as the common pitfalls and errors we can all fall into. Having achieved a masters degree and worked in the NHS for 10 years, I have a lot of experience writing and reading professional reports and university-standard essays. I have also proofread and beta-read a lot of novels and short stories over the years, culminating in my achieving a diploma with distinction in Proofreading and Copy Editing.

Creating high-quality work, whether it's to be seen by a few people or thousands, can be a daunting task. That's where I step in. If you would like help with your writing, whatever the format, I can help. Please check out my Services (tab at the top of the page) for more details, or feel free to email me using the contact form on this site and I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Qualifications
I have completed a Diploma with distinction at the College of Media and Publishing in proofreading and copy editing.

After completing my studies, I became a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP), the professional body that demonstrates the editorial standards that I must follow for my clients. I am continuously looking to learn more within my industry and often refer to this organisation for guidance and new knowledge.

In a past life, I also have a BSc (Hons) in Digital Forensics, and an MSc in Occupational Therapy. I have worked in a variety of different roles, including within the NHS, in schools, in offices, and for the Government.
